Client: Deep Value Driller
Location: Westcon Yard, Ølen, Norway
Project Duration: March 2021 – September 2023
Background: Deep Value Driller Ltd acquired the 7th generation drillship Bolette Dolphin in March 2021. Initially warm-stacked in Norway, the vessel remained in this state under the new ownership until a 3-year charter contract was secured with Saipem in Q1 2023.
Objective: Pelago Management was engaged to manage the vessel during the warm-stacked period from March 2021 and complete the reactivation/SPS phase prior to handover to Saipem early September 2023.
Survey
Pelago Management carried out a pre‑purchase survey of the drillship on behalf of the Client, focusing on its structural condition, key marine and drilling systems, maintenance history, and compliance status.

- Vessel Handover from Dolphin Drilling: Ensure a safe and high-quality handover from Dolphin Drilling to Deep Value Driller Ltd.
- Manage the warm–stack period: Ensure implementation of the System Integration Testing (SIT) and the preventive maintenance procedures.

- Sea trials, DP trials, shock and motion tests where required.
- Class & flag state certification, final acceptance by charterer.
- Implement Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) on drilling equipment.
